Computer Labs and Hours

Normandale Community College provides student computers and printers around campus. Due to Covid-19, there will limited seating and social distancing at this time. Normandale will be providing WiFi in the Normandale Parking Lot starting Fall 2020.

Computer Labs & Open Computers

Computer Center / Open Computer Lab - C2190 -  OPEN for Spring Semester 2021

  • The Computer Center / Open Lab has moved from the third floor to the second floor of College Services.
  • The Open Lab is located on the second floor of College Services, behind the Tutoring Center.
  • It has Windows 10 computers, Mac OS X computers, and printing.

Partnership Computer Lab - P1806 - Currently Closed

Kopp Student Center 

  • The Kopp Student Center has 2 computers available behind the fireside.
  • It has Windows 10 computers and printing.

Library

  • The Library has a limited number of computers available.
  • They have Windows 10 and printing.

Lab Hours

  • The Computer Labs are open as long as campus is open. 

Spring Semester 2021 Hours (All Hours)
Monday-Thurs: 8 a.m.-7:45 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m.-4:45 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday: Closed

Computer Lab Guidelines

  • Labs are QUIET Academic / Learning study areas.
  • Maximum of 2 students can share a computer
  • No cell phone conversations in or around Labs
  • No children
  • No food or drinks, except for closed drink containers.
  • Unattended items will be removed and brought to Lost and Found at the Kopp Center Information Desk.
  • The student Code of Conduct and Computer Usage Policy apply. For more information, please see www.normandale.edu/current-students/code-of-conduct
  • If lab rules are not followed, Public Safety (952-358-8280) will be contacted. Staff may ask to look at your ID. Violations will be referred to the Dean of Student

Covid-19

  • In order to ensure everyone's safety, please follow existing guidelines when using the computer lab.
  • Computers will be spaced at least 6 feet apart.
  • The computer labs are cleaned several times a day.
  • Please wear a mask and respect the space of other students in the computer lab.
  • The computer lab will not be staffed. Support will be available remotely by calling the Help Desk at (952) 358-8181.
  • ITS will be monitoring the lab remotely to ensure that everything is working.

On-Campus Test Proctoring

Students have the option of coming to campus during regular hours to take a proctored exam in a private, quiet space. You may use the computers in the Computer Center on the 2nd floor, C2190, which are available for students to drop in and take their test.

  • Students will not be proctored by a live person. Rather, they will be required to use whatever proctoring software that faculty have chosen for the test, such as using Honorlock.
  • To follow the Covid-19 protocols on the Normandale homepage, students will need to sign up no less than 26 hours in advance of when they want to take their test in order for the college to maintain our COVID-19 safety protocols. 
  • Please wear a mask and respect the space of other students in the computer lab.

For Spring 2021, additional locations have also been designated that will offer a more private space.
